I love afghans. They are warm and cuddly and perfect for naps. I love all soft blankets but I love afghans in particular because I can make them. For some reason my hands get fidgity without something to do. I can't seem to be without yarn in my hands.
I've made beanies and scarves in the past and have even had passing thoughts of making clothing. Passing is the key word. I very firmly believe that blankets are the best; you can cuddle with your hunny underneath a blanket. It wouldn't work so well for two people to try cuddling in a sweater, assuming that proximity does not always equal cuddling.
I also believe bigger the better when it comes to blankets! Which is a point I tend to overkill, albeit unintentionally most of the time.
The first afghan I made for my mother was just such a catastrophe. The width turned into the length and the blanket ended up being about 10' by 3'. It became a lap blanket for everyone on the couch. Then after serving in that capacity for several years it evidently decided to make a career change. My darling mother informed me that it now perfectly fits her king size bed. Strange happenings are afoot!
At least she still loves it. I hated it by the time I was finished. Okay, maybe I was just very annoyed that it was being so disobedient. I'm still rather suspicious of it's transforming powers. Perhaps Lion's Brand yarn is really made out of fuzzy spandex.

Where is my blanket........
Well, my guess would be...on your bed where you left it.
And thank you so much, hunny. You're pretty darn hot yourself!
