Twilight Magic

I laid on my back on our bed and you sat on my tummy. The sun had set but I left the light was off. Through the twilight of the room we stared at each other. Your dark eyes twinkled like dancing fireflies and your rosebud mouth opened in a grin of pure delight.

You bobbed and weaved, bouncing forward and backward in your excitement. Ten minutes passed and still we grinned at each other. Silly Momma, silly baby. We played airplane and peek-a-boo til it was almost too dark to see.

Good Mommy

Getting into the wonderful new "spirit of things", and how appropriate considering that Mother's Day is just around the corner, I am delighted to declare that I am confident I will be a good mommy!

Why? Because of my Mommy!

She is the one who has taught me (and my three sisters) how to be a good mother. She is the one who loved and guided us and filled the house with her wonderful momminess.

She is my best friend. She taught me how to do laundry and cook and clean. She taught me to how to love my husband and grow as a Christian. She is the one who taught me how to make homemade pizza, how "three is an artistic number", and how to learn from my mistakes. She taught me through her words, through her love, and through her example.

I will always remember the wonderful times I spent with her while growing up. I will always cherish the memories of the past and look forward to the memories of the future because she continues to teach me in everything she does.

Thank you, Mom, for showing me how to be a good mommy!
