Thank You for the Door

You know the saying, "when the Lord closes a door, he opens a window"? Well, He did...and it just happens to be in the same development!

When our current roomates decided to move back to Kansas we decided to get two new roomates and stay in the same house. We found the roomates and talked to the landlady. She gave us the greenlight and everything looked good. (Although I have to admit I was a little disappointed that we would be staying in the same house because I wanted to move)

Then, just a couple days later, the landlady called us back and told us that she was giving the house to a different family. Not good! One of our roomates was coming from the mainland and had already shipped several boxes to the house! Yikes! So I started praying.... I prayed, and prayed, and then prayed some more and asked others to pray too.

I talked to my parents and asked them to pray. I left a message on my sister and brother-in-law's answering machine asking them to pray. I also asked my home group from church to pray for me as well.

I think it worked.

A few days later my husband called me at work and told me we had gotten a house (to rent) in the same development. The other house just happened to have the exact same floor plan and the exact same rental price, but (wait for it!) it also happens to be furnished (yay!), and regularly bug sprayed (double yay!).

So we are now planning on moving this Saturday. Holy cow, this happened fast.

Needless to say, I am VERY excited about having a furnished and bug free house. Plus, it's looking like moving day should be fun as well. A group of our friends have graciously volunteered (no forcing involved, I promise) to help us move. In fact, we might have so many people helping that everyone can take one or two items and we'll be done! If only.

Isn't God wonderful? I think so, he's given us a bunch of new friends and an even better house to live in. Oh, and did I mention that I'm LOVING working with the youth group? Yeah, that is another new and unexpected blessing in my life. I just love it when God surprises me with these wonderful new adventures. ...(a little hint of more to come!)
